VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We are currently seeking volunteers for the following opportunities for the 2026-27 school year. Check back often as we will post additional call outs for Volunteers as we need them.

Committee Descriptions
Staff Appreciation Committee
The mission of this committee is to show gratitude and appreciation for all WAMS staff members through small gestures throughout the year that promote a positive school culture and climate. Events typically include:
Welcome back breakfast (September)
Winter staff appreciation lunch (December)
Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week events/gestures (May)
Other staff appreciation initiatives as approved by the PTO Executive Board
The Committee is responsible for planning and executing these events.
Need: 1 or 2 Chairpersons and additional Volunteers.
Coffee & Hospitality Committee:
Maintain the Keurig supply in the main office as an ongoing sign of appreciation to our staff
Solicit donations for supplies; purchase as needed if approved by the PTO Executive Board
Monitor supply levels at least twice per month or as needed.
Assist the staff appreciation committee with coffee/tea-related needs at staff appreciation events
Assist the Executive Board with coffee/tea-related needs at PTO events
Need: 1 or 2 Chairpersons. Volunteers can be solicited as needed.
Concessions Committee:
Oversee the set-up of concessions stands with the help of volunteers at designated large-scale school events. In the past, these have included Welcome Back Night, Student Socials, WAMS Slams, Forensics Tournament,and WAMS Expo.
Purchase and/or solicit donations for concession items
Maintain oversight of concession-related supplies in the PTO closet.
Need: 1 or 2 Chairpersons. Volunteers can be solicited as needed.
Beautification Committee
The purpose of this committee is to maintain a welcoming appearance to the school for all students, staff, and visitors. The committee will work with school administration and the PTO Executive Board to develop and execute ideas for beautification and improvement of indoor and outdoor spaces, e.g., turtle pond, outdoor garden/courtyard, staff bathroom upgrade, etc.
Need: 1 or 2 Chairpersons. Volunteers can be solicited as needed.
Music Parent Association
This Committee joins parents together to support our dance, chorus, band, and orchestra in various ways, including fundraising for performing arts teacher appreciation and volunteering at student performances.
Need: 1 or 2 Chairpersons. Volunteers can be solicited as needed.
Spiritwear
This Committee supports the VP, Spiritwear and Online Sales, with in-person sales at school events and online fulfillment duties, as your schedule allows.
Need: 2-4 Committee members.
Principal Advisory Committee (aka “PAC Representatives”)
One or two per grade level to meet monthly with Ms. Hudock for approximately one hour. Must be available to meet in person on a weekday morning (usually first Wednesday of the month). Representatives will collect and bring questions and topics of general concern. The agenda will be sent from the principal’s office.
Community Engagement
Assist with initiatives such as coordinating sponsorships, corporate matching, dine-to-donate fundraisers, or other initiatives.
Student Social Committee
Organize two (more if you’d like!) student-only activities throughout the school year, e.g. Halloween Binglow night, board game nights, or other opportunities for WAMS students to come together.
Need: 1 or 2 Chairpersons and additional Volunteers.
Movie Night Committee
Coordinate a Movie Night fundraiser at Bernardsville Cinema
Need: 1 or 2 Chairpersons.

Krispy Kreme Fundraiser Lead
We have a plan but need someone to help us execute it! Responsibilities include coordinating the following (you can ask for additional volunteers to help) reaching out to our Krispy Kreme contact, arranging pickup from the Springfield store location, adding the student labels to the boxes and distributing them during last period. 8th Grade Events
This Committee is responsible for the following 8th grade activities
Plan and execute the 8th grade dance, held in June at the Ridge HS gymnasium (theme, decorations, food, etc.)
Assist with the 8th grade Celebration in conjunction with WAMS administration and staff
Run the 8th grade lawn sign fundraiser
Need: 2 Chairpersons (Dance and Celebration) and additional Volunteers
